Hello Friends and Family,

Todd and I have made our way around the Adriatic Sea and have landed in Dubrovnic.  We had an amazing time in Slovania.  We both loved it there, the people are so down to earth and friendly.  They love nature and outdoor activities.  They have the best hot chocolate in the world.  It’s more like pudding and oh so creamy and good.  You can order it in bars.  We ate alot of it.  We were able to spend time in Large cities and small towns.  I loved the small towns, they reminded me of home.  We then made our way into Croatia.  We went to Plitvice Lakes where they have amazing waterfalls.  They were half frozen and we got to walk through several miles of snow.  There was hardly anyone there and I felt like we had our own magic wonderland.  We then took a ferry for hours and stayed on an island for two days.  It was quiet and beautiful.  The water here is crystal clear, and is turquoise blue with shades of green. It is so clean.  We are staying at a family hotel for our last few days.  They have a giant garden and we both love it.  We wish all of you a Happy New Year!

Much love,

Mary Beth and Todd

Hey all, we almost didn’t make it on our trip. Luna the dog tore out her dog knee ligament on a hike and we were going to have to stay home, until our tickets were going to be a total loss ($2,000-2,500) so we worked it out with friends and room mate to take care of her after surgery on Thursday. Two weeks ago Flupperton the cat cost me $465 for a fight wound on the shoulder and the next day my dentist cost me $725. The week before that MB’s pets cost just over $500 for various vet services. But all is well and we are still going!

Amanda and I have had the good fourtune of seeing Blue Man Group twice now. It has been some time since we last saw them but I was listening to one of their albums and felt I should make a post. I wanted everyone that visits this site share in something mindblowing. The Blue Man Group composed a song titled “Exhibit 13″. In their shows they have some video that goes with the music and it is a very interesting show. All the video is, is a bunch of papers that blew into their courtyard falling from the top of the screen to the bottom. Here is a youtube video of the show.

What strums at the heart strings about this song and video is that this paper blew into the courtyard on September, 11th, 2001.

Welcome back everyone to the all new CLdC!

Todd and I have been working together recently to try and revive clanlininger. As part of the recent updates I have changed the look of CLdC (and will probably change it again and again until I have it just right). I still don’t like the look differences between the main site and the pictures section and I don’t like the “spash page” that you see when you go to the CLdC root URL. But all of that will come in good time. As of now, Todd and I will be posting here to keep everyone up to date on all things Lininger; especially on Todd’s wedding.

We would really like everyone in the family to post events that are going on or ideas for get togethers, or what ever else is on their mind. This really can be a great place to share ideas, event, pictures, etc. with the family and/or the world.

If you would like to post comments here or post pictures in the pictures section please send me an email or click on the “register” link in each of the blog and picture sections, follow the instructions, and I’ll enable the accounts and have you posting right away.

Marybeth and Todd’s wedding

Hello Family and Friends,

Mary Beth and Todd are getting married and we’re hoping you can come. We’ll be sending out invitations, but since many of you might be coming from far away we wanted to give you time for bookings. The wedding will be on Saturday, July 12, 2008. We’re also planning other things for people flying in so you can make a weekend holiday of it. Here’s our grand plan.

Thursday and Friday July 10-11th - Hang out at the Mt. Baldy Lodge. They have a swimming pool, volleyball court, horseshoes, hiking, and a restaurant. It is up in the mountains and it is beautiful. Mary Beth’s band, Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade will possibly be playing on Friday night too. Should be a nice few days of hanging out with family and friends. You can do touristy stuff in the city, but your on your own.

Saturday July 12 - You can continue to hang out at the lodge, or if you want to explore down town Claremont you could do that too. Claremont has many shops, a movie theater, and a great folk music center (folk instruments from around the world) if you are a musician. The bride and groom will have things to attend to before the wedding in the afternoon, so you’re on your own (together). The wedding will be at 4:00 in Mary Beth and Todd’s garden. This will be a casual wedding. Wear cool clothing and shoes that can handle uneven surfaces. Heels are not recommended. We want to get married here because we have created this space together. The reception will follow at 5:00, up at the Claremont Women’s Lodge. This is about 7 blocks away. Make sure you have dancing shoes because the Sugar Mountain Mamas and Hobo Jazz (they play 20’s and 30’s blues and jazz) will be playing after the dinner. It’s air conditioned at the Lodge, but not in the backyard. We will keep the house air conditioned for the day though.

Sunday July 13 - Brunch at Mary Beth and Todd’s house for anyone who is still here. The rest of the day will be played out by ear for those who are still in town.

We’ll keep you advised of any updates and send an invitation soon.

Here are a few ideas for accommodations in the Mt. Baldy and Claremont area. The closest airport is the Ontario airport, which is 15 minutes from Claremont. It’s code if you are going on line to book tickets is ONT. We have limited places to sleep at our house unless your o.k. with sleeping on an air mattress. We will also work with people who need to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. The drive between Claremont and Mt. Baldy is about 20 minutes. All of these hotels are online if you want to see them.

Mt. Baldy Lodge

Mt. Baldy Lodge -There are only three cabins available. These are rustic, but cute. There is one that can sleep four and two that can sleep two. If you want one of these let us know because they’re reserved in our name right now.

Buckhorn Lodge (909)982-1107

There are nine cabins available here and it is within walking distance of the Mt. Baldy Lodge. These cabins are small, but cute. Each one is decorated differently. They are nicer on the inside than outside. We weren’t going to recommend this place when we saw it from the outside, but we went into the rooms, and they were nice. It is very close to the Mt. Baldy lodge, and there aren’t a lot of choices in Mt. Baldy.

Ramada Inn- (909)621-4831

This is located about one mile from the wedding and reception.

Howard Johnson - (909)-626-2431

This is located about one mile from the wedding and reception.

Hotel Casa 425- (888)702-4991

This is an expensive, new hotel in the middle of downtown Claremont. It is within walking distance of the wedding and reception. This is if you are up to a 12 block walk. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe.

We hope you can come.

Much love,
Mary Beth and Todd
